This Refund & Returns Policy applies to all purchases made from https://openfilament.com (“Site”), operated by OpenFilament LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).


1. Overview

We stand behind the quality of our products and aim to provide a straightforward, fair return process.

Because our offerings include hardware, software, and digital products, different policies apply depending on the type of purchase.


2. Physical Products (Hardware)

Returns

You may request a return for physical products within 14 days of delivery, provided that:

  • The item is unused and in original condition
  • All original packaging, accessories, and components are included

Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns for:

  • Used or modified hardware
  • Items damaged due to improper use
  • Custom or made-to-order products (if applicable)

Return Process

To initiate a return:

  2. Include your order number and reason for return
  3. Wait for return authorization before shipping

Unauthorized returns may not be accepted.


Shipping Costs

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable
  • We recommend using a trackable shipping method

Refunds (Hardware)

Once your return is received and inspected:

  • Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method
  • Please allow 5–10 business days for processing

3. Software, Licenses, and Digital Products

Due to the nature of digital goods:

All software, license keys, and downloadable products are non-refundable once delivered.

This includes:

  • Software tools
  • License activations
  • Firmware or digital unlock solutions

Exceptions

Refunds may be considered only if:

  • The product was not delivered
  • The file is defective and cannot be fixed
  • A duplicate purchase was made in error

We reserve the right to determine eligibility for exceptions.


4. Compatibility Responsibility

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure compatibility with their specific equipment before purchasing.

We provide product descriptions and support to help you make informed decisions, but we do not guarantee compatibility with:

  • Modified systems

  • Third-party configurations outside stated specifications

5. Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged or defective:

  • Include photos and a description of the issue

We will:

  • Replace the item, or
  • Provide a refund at our discretion

6. Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled before shipment or delivery.

Once:

  • A physical product has shipped, or
  • A digital product has been delivered

…the order cannot be canceled.


7. Chargebacks & Disputes

Filing a chargeback without contacting us may delay resolution and affect your eligibility for future purchases.


8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not responsible for damages resulting from misuse of our products
  • We do not guarantee specific performance outcomes
  • Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the product
